David Fincher directed this adaptation of the Chuck Palahniuk novel about an insomniac office worker who drifts through support groups for diseases he does not have, until he meets a soap salesman offering a harder cure. What begins as two men trading punches in a bar parking lot grows into something with chapters, rules, and a plan nobody voted on. Edward Norton plays the narrator opposite Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden, with Helena Bonham Carter as Marla Singer and Meat Loaf as a man from the testicular cancer group.
