Martin Scorsese adapted Nicholas Pileggi's book Wiseguy into the story of Henry Hill, a Brooklyn kid who grew up wanting to be a gangster and got exactly what he asked for. Ray Liotta plays Hill across twenty-five years, with Robert De Niro as Jimmy Conway, Joe Pesci as the volatile Tommy DeVito in an Oscar-winning performance, and Lorraine Bracco as the wife who finds the life glamorous right up until she does not.
