Quentin Tarantino scrambled the chronology of three Los Angeles crime stories and changed how a generation of filmmakers wrote dialogue. John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson play a pair of hit men who argue about hamburgers on the way to work, Uma Thurman plays the boss's wife Vincent is told to entertain, and Bruce Willis plays a boxer who was paid to lose. Violent, funny, and built so the ending loops back around to the opening scene.
