Gary Oldman plays Jackson Lamb, the slovenly, brilliant spymaster running Slough House, the dumping ground where MI5 sends agents who have embarrassed the service, in this adaptation of Mick Herron's novels. Jack Lowden is River Cartwright, the young agent exiled there after a botched training exercise, and Kristin Scott Thomas plays the ambitious deputy director at headquarters. The Apple TV series has released a season roughly every year since 2022, each adapting one book, and has drawn steady Emmy nominations for writing and for Oldman.
