Alejandro Monteverde's thriller stars Jim Caviezel as Tim Ballard, a Homeland Security agent who rescues a trafficked boy and then goes rogue in Colombia to find the boy's sister. Mira Sorvino and Bill Camp co-star. Distributed by Angel Studios with a crowdfunded "Pay It Forward" ticket program, it opened on July 4 and grossed roughly 250 million dollars worldwide on a 14.5 million dollar budget, one of the most profitable independent releases ever. The film drew both strong support from faith and conservative audiences and criticism over the accuracy of its account of Ballard's work.
