Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff directed Disney's Hamlet on the savanna, and it became the highest grossing hand-drawn animated film ever made. Matthew Broderick voices Simba, a cub who flees the Pride Lands after his uncle engineers his father's death and lets the boy carry the blame. Jeremy Irons plays Scar, James Earl Jones plays Mufasa, and Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella handle the comic relief as Timon and Pumbaa. Elton John and Tim Rice wrote the songs and Hans Zimmer took the Oscar for the score.
